Cornwall Community Land Trust (Confirmed)
Chief Executive of Cornwall Community Land Trust since 2016. CCLT has produced over 250 homes on 24 separate projects since it was established in 2007. It has helped establish 12 local CLTs and now has a growing pipeline – anticipated 50+ new homes per annum from 2021. Currently applying for RP & IP status. Previous to this Andrew worked in charitable housing in Cornwall from 1986, founding member of Cornwall Rural Housing Association, acted as Rural Housing Enabler with Cornwall RCC amongst other roles in the sector. He was elected Member of Parliament for the west Cornwall & Scillies constituency of St Ives from 1997 – 2015 where he led Parliamentary campaigns on housing (ending Council tax subsidies for second homes, against the “bedroom tax”, for an intermediate market investment bank, amongst others). In recent years he has been regular cook, supplier and server for the Penzance Street Food Project (a 7 evenings p.w. service for street homeless and vulnerable 20-40 meals per eve) and remains an active volunteer and housing campaigner. Previously Andrew worked in farming, research and writing (5 books, 10 periodicals/manuals), charity, community development and environmental work in Nottinghamshire, Cornwall and Devon. Schooled (state schools) west Cornwall, studied at Sussex and Oxford Universities.
